PANTA© SMD - the improved rigid-flex alternative

Especially in automotive and industrial electronics as well as medical technology, the Panta solution has many advantages

More cost-effective than the Rigid-Flex PCB

Compared to the rigid-flex solution, SUMIDA flexible connections offers with PANTA© SMD a more cost-effective alternative. The SMD solution (see image)  has already successfully replaced the Rigid-Flex in several cases. Especially the advantages that the SMD solution of SUMIDA offers multiple layout options and is more cost effective than the Rigid-Flex. The application of the own SMD jumper offers the advantage to combine a well known pick & place process with reflow soldering and the usage of standard FR4 board material, that furthermore reduces the bill of material cost. Since then, it has been widely used in the automotive and industrial sectors.

Product Features among other things are Usage in automotive, industrial and medical technology, fulfillment of part accuracy and tolerance requirements for standard pick-and-place machines and vibration resistance.
